Piston issues

Dear DS3 owners,

My lovely DS3 thp broke down last week on the highway. It appears that one of the pistons in the engine had broken, in a place where it usualy shouldnt.

The engineers told me, that it could happen couse of a faulty fabrication of the metalpiston.

Has anyone here had the same issue?

The car is from May 2011, so there is no more warranti on it. If this is a problem with several cars with the same engine, there is a slight chance that Citroen could pay the bill - which is about 1600£..

Common problem. Good luck getting Citroen to foot the bill =/

Full rebuild cost me £1500 so it sounds as though your garage are being genuine.

I'm not sure what sort of trading standards laws you have in Denmark however you could attempt to argue that the car isn't fit for purpose as it's only survived 3 years of being registered.
