The tyres on my wifes DS3 are due for a change .... currently has the factory fit Bridgestone but as she doesn't drive too fast or corner on 2 wheels what are the better budget/mid range options?
Was going to order from Mytyres, Blackcircles, Ears Motorsport or Camskill and just get them fitted.
A local fitting place was saying Goodride was a reasonable tyre but never heard of them so might stay clear
Nankang, Falken or Khumo seem pretty good value

I had Nexen fitted to my car when I bought it am replacing them with good years as they wear but the Nextel are a good mid range tyres that certainly grip well

Mine are due for a change too, I'll be going for Toyo Proxes. They're reasonably priced, and are good quality (so I've read, haven't driven them myself) They seem to be on the softer side, so they might wear a bit faster than the Bridgestones you (and I) have now.

Have a look at the Goodyear accemetric 2 quiet a bit softer ride & have a good bit of rim protection built in to them too

Don't skimp on tyres! Cheap Chinese ditchfinders may be fine 99% of the time, but that 10 metres extra stopping distance can make the difference between a near miss & an expensive crash the one time you do need to stop quickly!

Cheap tyres can also be a false economy - 75% of the price for 50% of the life isn't really cheap in the long run.

Michelin pilot sport 3's are quality and have dropped to round£80 a corner
nexen, nangkangs are also fair as a budget tyre, don't rate Bridgestones myself

you can fit up to 215 width on the Bellone, and mine are 40 profile rather than 45.
If you mix the measurements a little, then price of tyres comes down

I just treated the car to 4 Yokohama blu techs purely for the wet breaking performance as it's always raining up here, i've only had them fitted for a day but i don't know if it's pyscological but there's less tram lining that the Michelins that where on it previously
Stupidity built in at no extra cost

Got a few emails from them, cos I went back a second time, and the cost had dropped (Needed a tyre cos a nail in one of mine)

soon as I recall, will post up. Maybe a web search will find?

Cheers, no rush as I shouldn't need any for 12 months but the cheapest I've seen them recently was around £110 a corner (fitted), £80 sounds like a good deal.

No Worries Beef. Bought mine a year ago so price rise to be expected I spose
However, I rember buying at £115 about 3 year ago, so prices fluctuate probably due to stock levels

Not sure what the " ZR" is in your reference. haven't seen that before.

These tyres are miles better in the wet, and cornering, than the Bridgestones

Yeah I've heard a lot of good things about the Pilot Sport 3s.

I just copied it from the site but Google tells me that ZR is the speed rating (150mph+) and W is a sub rating of 168mph, nice to know but I doubt many people will test their DS3 to that speed without some serious mods and a long runway, lol.

                              ZR Ratings
When ZR ratings were introduced, they reflected the highest tyre speed rating ever likely to be required, in excess of 150 mph (240 km/h). However, how far above 150 mph was not identified.

W (169mph) & Y (187mph) ratings were subsequently added to identify tyres that meet the needs of newer high performance vehicles that have very high top-speed capabilities.
