Petrol Gauge won't go over half way after knock.

Hello all first post and I'm in a pickle.
I have a DS3 1.6 petrol Style plus. The wife had a knock in her behind lol and ever since then the petrol gauge won't go more than 1 bar over halfway. It's been back to the repairer twice with this and came back today the same. It's had a new positioner fitted but is there some sort of calibration req to stop this. The tank has been filled up.
I would appreciate some help as the repairer doesn't seem to have any idea.

Off the top of my head
The "knock" might have bent the float arm. If it has one as such. Thus stopping it going up to the top of a full tank. Food for thought I think.

Hello pal. I'm pretty sure that's what was replaced. I'm going to phone them tomorrow but I've heard mention of a Shunt fuse?
