  • loose bolt rattle in glovebox

    hi,

i have what sounds like a loose bolt vibrating noise from my glove box, i was thinking of taking the glove box out to see if anything is loose. can anyone advise me how to remove the glove box so i can re tighten the bolts or if there is any other advice to stop the rattle.

    Cheers

First off check to see if the little rubber plugs have come off, open the glove box and check the top side of the lid.

Before you do that, check the rubber bump stops are in place on the edge.

Its common for them to fall out and then you'll hear a rattle

Mine was the little rubber plugs mentioned above, helpfully it had fallen inside the glove box so I was able to refit it

Also try folding a microfibre cloth into a square and placing it on the flat side of the glove box panel (assuming you have a RHD DS3) and then shutting the glove box. If folded correctly this should provide some dampening as you drive, I think WTF told me about this months ago and it's worked for me

could also be the fuse cover, if its been off then the plastic pins may have broken, you get it off to check you open your glove box and pull the cover away, may take a little force so try starting the corners.
            Hope this helps

Your English is allowed to be slightly off if you are from Sweden!!!

By the way - it's "sometimes" with an "s" on the end.

Pull the fuse box cover off, could be the ODB port has become loose.
