Update: left it undercover last night and took it to the dealer this morning. Roof is now shut, thank goodness, and they'll have a proper look next week. Thanks for the sympathy!
Pleased to hear things are on the mend. As a cabrio owner myself, I am particularly interested to follow your post. I wasn't aware that you can wind the roof back manually. I don't think there is anything in the handbook regarding this. Did the dealer do this for you?
I had the roof stick in the fully open position after the first warm, sunny day of the year! Reading all related posts, climbing into the boot looking for a manual wind up slot, disconnecting and reconnecting the battery and trying an electronics scan I began to think this would be a trip to a Citroen Dealer to get it sorted. After the car in the garage in case of rain, I noticed the rear spoiler was slightly askew with the roof fully down and I guessed it had jammed when closing? Anyway, I read the manual and it talked about re-initialising, so got the wife to press and hold the roof button in the close position, whilst I manhandled the rear spoiler into a level position. After a couple of attempts the roof returned to position 2 and subsequently closes and opens OK. I'll be a bit reluctant to have the roof in the fully open position in the future, but hope my practical experience of dealing with the problem might be a help a fellow DS3 Cabrio owner.
When my roof stuck in the shut position my local Citroen dealer told me that there is a slot in each motor under the parcel shelf which would take an Allen Key which when pressed up would allow you to manually wind in the roof. I had my roof replaced under Citroen extended warranty when the car was 4 years old.
The sunroof runs in 3 aluminium channels in the roof which arent routinely cleanef or libricated. The roof moves on sliders rather than rollers and i reckon that friction will increase as these channels get dirty. I now plan to clean and lubricate my new roof every year. Another firum member sent me the official Citroen service bulletin in how to clean and service th3 roof. PM me with your email address if you would like a copy.
Can anyone direct me to when the Allen key would go for the manual closing. Have a roof stuck open and will not budge. Been wracking my brain as to where the motor would be to perform the manaul closing. Thank you!
Glad I'm not the only one with this issue. My partners roof has became stuck(will not open) and when pushing the button you can hear the motors but no movement what so ever! any advice, tips etc on how to fix it would be greatly appreciated
