Dash message help

Morning all, hope you all enjoyed TRAX (those that went that is).

I was wondering if you'd be able to tell me what it means when I put the key in and where the odometer is there is a message that counts down the miles and says oil with a little spanner next to it?

What mileage are you on?

1st service is after 12 months or x000 miles (THP is 20k, not sure on yours). It's possible when it was serviced they didn't reset the counter, luckily you can do it yourself, it's in the handbook.

Think I'm on just under 17k, was hoping wouldn't have to service it before giving it back

Someone call. Actually you should have known the spanner "Handbook" BUT the service schedule is over in the small supplement service booklet. It is all rather confusing and with Citroen changing the schedules at one point to mix it up even more. I think, just that think, that yours was a normal 2 year x miles and they also called for a 1 year that was not required but may have been required with the lease. If so the the 1 year may not have counted for the miles requirement.? As I said all very confusing.

Diesels used to be 1 year or 12,500 miles whichever came first. Then on 2014 onwards, I think, the mileage went out to 16k miles or a year.

Could be was just a guess on my part.

edit: Just seen on the citroen site where 2010 to 6/2012 oil burner is 12500 or 2 years then changed to 1 year 12500 and god knows what it is now.

They are now mines a 13 plate and that still had 12,500 service intervals

So mines a 63 plate and didn't have an indicator after 12500 and was serviced after twelve months regardless, should I just ignore it then do you think?

Call and ask them to explain what service is do and why it is do now(years / milage from last service as it does not seem to make sense). If the car is leased may have no choice but to do it.
