  • Stutter/Hesitation under acceleration

    Hi Guys,

I have noticed recently that when accelerating once it hits 3-4k revs it feels like a bit of a stutter /hesitation.

Does anyone else have this issue and whats the cause?

62 plate 155 thp with 26k on the clock.

A well documented issue, chances are its significant carbonisation of the inlet ports. Most of use with similar engine cars have had this and the only treatment is to decoke the engine, either by walnut blasting or by stripping the top end.

Its still under warranty till October.

Will it be fixed under warranty and whats the best way to explain it to them? or is it a common issue that they know about?

Just say "when I drive I get stutter and hesitation occasionally when accelerating"
They should say "Bring it in and we'll have a look"

They then plug in their diagnostic tester and search for error codes- which there should be several
when they find the fault codes, they will fix it somehow, usually a clean of the inlet valves
yes- pretty common on THP engines

See my post from last week. There is a thread in his very section.

Mine was identical fault as yours and also showed 4 different fault codes when I took my 62plate 155thp in.

All fixed by removing the cylinder head and decoke.
Car is much better now, although seems to have more of a timing chain rattle then b4

Cheers pal, just had a glance over the post.

I have booked mine in to Citroen Milton Keynes for the above issue and also a clink when turning the steering wheel.

Does anyone know if corrosion around the centre of all 4 alloys is a warranty issue?

Yep - well known and accepted problem. Several people on here have had new wheels under warranty.

Yes, I had one bellion alloy changed FOC under warranty whilst the Inlet valve issue was being corrected.

They will only change that wheel if no other damage exists from kerbing.

                      So.....

Ive just had a phone call from Citroen in Milton Keynes and apparently there are no fault codes showing up what so ever!?!?!

                      What do i do now?

Im trying to argue with them about it but to no avail.

You take it to Jamie and have the valves cleaned.

Reproduce the issue whilst filming it on a phone.

Take it to another dealership that knows what they are doing...

Dont pay for this , as its under warranty.Speak to Citroen UK and complain.

There is a technical service brief on this issue, your dealer needs to check the service briefs, rather then fob you off.
