Question about factory fitted alarm on Dsport Plus 2010

Reading through my manual it says that you press the remote button twice within 5 seconds to activate dead locking and that there will be a red flashing light in the switch that also de-activates internal alarm on the panel near your right knee to indicate the alarm has been set.

I have the switch but when i lock the doors and the alarm sets there is no flashing light in that switch, however there is a flashing red light in the central door looking switch in the middle of the dash next to the air vents.

Do i take it there must have been a change to the spec but the manual had not been changed ???? or do i have something non standard ????

Sorry for the might be stupid question but i am a newbie to DS3’s and trying to get my head around all its features.

    Thanks
    Tez

Hello mate, I have a flashing red light in both switches, maybe one of your bulbs has gone

Mine was a 2010 and had the alarm button next to ESP (under the steering wheel, near the cubby hole).

If you take the key out of the ignition and hold this for a few seconds, what happens?

As Gaz said, it may just be the bulb that's gone.

Try following the instructions from the manual and leave the window open. Once you've followed the steps to disable the alarm, try waving your hands around through the window and rocking the car to see if you can get the alarm to engage.

Interesting. My 2012 DSport only flashes the led on the central locking button.
As for the alarm button next to the ESP one... It only ever flashes when I enter the car after the alarm has been set off (accidentally locked wife in the car).
Pressing the button doesn't do anything, although the manual states it is to disable the alarm.

On mine you hold that button after removing the keys from the ignition (before you get out) and it will light up, then get out and you can leave the windows down a little (I have the deflectors) and allow some cooling without the alarm going off all the time.

cameron20020 & lfcrule1972, your like me, only flashes the led on the central locking button, however if i hold the button next to the ESP then the red led comes on on that button indicating the internal sensors have been disabled.

I was trying to confirm that the flashes the led on the central locking button indicates alarm is set and not like it says in the handbook that it should be the button next to the ESP should flash ononce alarm set.

Open one of the windows in the car and then lock it.

Wait for around a minute and then stick your arm through the open window, your alarm should now go bananas!

If not then your alarm has been disabled for what ever reason, try the switch down beside the steering wheel but if no joy then pop into your dealer and have them rearm the system for you.
