I think it depends on what engine you have.
Mine (DSport) has a smallish plastic one.
I think the diesel may have a larger one.

Diesel has a full plastic one. THP probably didn't have this due to heat.White on red THP

Had a look again today and there is no shield at all not even below the belts etc. should I take it back and ask for one to be fitted under warranty. I have also found the the near side front inner wheel arch is slightly loose and has a fastener missing and where the front plastic panel meets the metal wing also appears to have a fastener missing.Comment

You could raise it and see what the dealer says ? The fasteners I would think they will do without any issues
