New DS3 owner, can anyone advise...

Hello, before I go to my dealer and potentially look a little silly!:redface: I wonder if anyone could advise...

I have the City signature option which amongst other things I understood to include auto folding wing mirrors, as far as I can see my mirrors do not auto fold! They do not fold when the car is locked, or using the switch on the drivers door which selects which wing mirror you want to adjust, I believe if you push this switch down it should fold the mirrors as well?

Also when I lock the car using the remote key there is no indicator flash, you can hear the car lock but no flash of the indicators, the lights do flash when you unlock it. Is this the way it is supposed to be?

First thing welcome to the forum.

Secondly i have that City Signature pack and have never had this problem. I think a vist to your dealer is the correct option.

If you can hear a sound from the car when locking using the remote, BUT no flash from the indicators that is usually a sign that the car HAS NOT LOCKED, usually a door or the boot not properly closed.

Welcome to the thread 01-mike.....This may sound daft but check your bonnet doors and boot are closed and locked properly....had an issue with mine locking when i had the bonnet slightly open.

I remember a few weeks back i opened the passenger door to put something on the seat and closed to door (it was fully closed) as i went to drive off the doors would not self lock, from the drivers seat i did open and close the door but no luck. Until i got out and saw that the seat belt was hanging out, for some reason the door was fully closed but with the belt hanging out it wouldnt let it lock.

Mike has a good check nothing is stuck in the seals etc etc just to remove this possibility

The indicators should flash to acknowledge that the car is locked (btw 2 quick blips on the remote deadlocks the car), as I said earlier, no lights says the car is unlocked...this may be stupid, U sure your using the right button on the remote. Other than that check that the boot, and both doors are properly closed.

Just to throw another spanner in the works, sort of say...

I have the City Signature pack just for ref, but when I unlock mine the indicators flash quite quickly, and when I lock it the indicators stay on fully illuminated i.e. don't flash

Grrr! So I went out in the lovely weather to triple check both doors, boot & bonnet were shut correctly which they were with nothing near the doors to get stuck etc. I then locked and unlocked a couple of time while checking each door again and now it doesn't flash for unlocking or locking!!
The interior light goes on and off with unlocking/locking and the doors do lock but that's it! Guess its a trip to the dealer on Monday! Not a great start!

Very odd.............never heard of anything like that before.............I assume that the indicators do work

Am sure that the dealer will be able to sort it out quickly.....did you get it from Freeborn?

Yes everything else seems fine, its a joy to drive aside from these issues! Though I have only done 30 miles in it so far!!

Oh and no it's from Portfield in Chichester and yes fingers crossed it will be a quick fix.

I'd be interested to know if it's possible to turn that wretched flashing off!! Personally I find it a right pain, particularly the rapid flashing when you unlock.

Just try making discreet early exit from, let's say, your work/office car park during the winter months when it gets dark before 5.30....

No matter how quietly you creep out of the door and silently pad across the car park, the moment you hit the key fob, the wretched car lights up like a Poundland Xmas tree, causing all those colleagues who have windows overlooking the car park to look up & say, "Oh, there goes X, slipping off early again!"

It's just TOO attention-grabbing, imo.

If I were you, I'd leave well alone!!

Oh the old slipping away early! yes, getting out of the building is the main prob for me, not the car park lol
