  • Air Conditioning Wiring Problem

    Hi All,
I've a problem with my air con that appears to have garage stumped at present.
    Its the auto climate system.
Basically the compressor clutch is not engaging.
I've had an air conditioning mobile mechanic check gas, most obvious thing.
    Pressure is OK.
He thought it might be pressure switch but when he connect his machine to OBD port he could not read settings and did not just want to change it.
Recommended car electrician who had more advanced software. He connected up and showed switch OK and all other parameters OK, but it appeared the system was not letting A/C clutch engage.
Called up wiring diagram and tested through from under bonnet module to compressor and all wiring tested OK apart from cable that returns to control unit and earth.
Tried earthing at compressor but still not working. So looks like the earth is used as return for possible monitoring.
Thinks there must be a break in main harness around engine, which is hard to believe.

Anyone else had or come across this?? Been searching but nothing come up.
Been trying to find wiring diagram as well for A/C to look at myself but no luck.
Any advice/ Want to have the car back for at least 4 hours and does not know what it will cost!

Biggie might be able to point you in the direction of the a/c wiring diagram - he should be in his bacon pit shortly

Took it to Citroen and they "thought" the problem was with the electrical clutch on compressor.
They quoted for a degas, fit recon compressor and regas. About £900!
But they were not sure if that was the problem! Could be fuse box, or wiring loom. They checks they did did not indicate the exact thought but that was the feeling of mechanic.

So decided to ell the car!
