So, after only 5000 miles my car had the Engine Failure notice and the service light pop up last Friday. Turned car off and left it a few minutes and it all cleared. Then it came back on and the fan kicked in for literally 5 seconds.
Called Citroen assist who were awesome but couldn't read any fault codes. Took it to John Grose who said there was actually a recall notice on the car for a fuse issue where it wasn't inserted correctly so they would sort that at the same time.
They sorted the fuse issue and stated a small component in the fan had failed but this only took them a few hours to sort everything. Awesome as ever at JG.
However yesterday the light came back on, same error message but no fan issues etc. Took it back to JG and got a brand new whisper purple Cactus for a courtesy car. (Its awesomely lovely) Just had a call to say it needs a new ECU!!
There seemed nothing wrong at all with the car. No loss of power, no rattles or noises. No limp mode.
So.... for the next few days, I'm in a Cactus! Put its nice, nippy, economical and comfy. It's only a basic model, but this is tempting me....
