engine revs

I have a HDI 90 air dream 20012. problem of service light coming on yesterday with engine management light. Managed to remove lights via the dash and the engine management light eventually went off. But back on today after a 30 min drive. But i have noticed, not that i have done this before. When i rev the engine, not in gear, it does not rev much above 2000rpm. Is this normal or do i have a problem. If so what could it be?

go get the fault codes read. First step in identifying any problem nowadays.

yep - taking it on Monday. Tx. But need to drive it before then??
