  • Clock / Date Flashing Constantly!? - Help!

    Hello All

I found this club thankfully last night after many hours of trying to fix my problem. You all seem pretty nice here I have not been able to find out how to fix it through the internet so I thought I would ask the experts here.

I have just bought a DS3 Airdream Dsport Plus 1.6 E-HDI in Yellow (Insurance write-off). I have the monochrome screen 3 and it will not stop flashing the time and date. The CD player and radio still work but I cannot see the display because the clock and date are just flashing constantly. The trip computer displays using the wiper stalk ok and it also bring up your commands like activating auto wipers / lights etc. If you use the commands like menu / esc on the radio all you see is the flashing clock/date gggrrrrr

Your input and thoughts would be most appreciated

    Cheers

    Bob

Sounds most likely that the shunt fuse is in the wrong place, open the glove box and pull off the cover. Look inside and you are hunting for a large grey fuse sitting in a wide hole, move the fuse over in the hole and see if that sorts your problem.

Have you tried setting the time / date?

I've not seen this on a DS3 but old stereos used to flash the clock when they needed setting.

Hi Bigfeet / Beefmasta and WTF

Thanks for your advise. Very Welcome.... I just went out there and pulled and put in the fuse (SH one! - Large grey one) as you discribed. Yes it resets the clock but it is still doing the same - Flashing. I just made a video of the error which I hope I can put up here! I will try below. The car is 2012 so the radio is quite new. This is driving me crazy!!!

Hope you can see this video!

Hmm... I wonder if the radio it's self is the cause of the problems. Do you by any chance have access to another radio from a different car such as a friend or family?

There seems to be some sort of communication error between the two as your video shows no input from the buttons, I think your best option would be to speak with your dealer and see if they have another radio to quickly try in your car.

Like has been suggested, have you tried setting the date and time?
