  • Service indicator

    Hi

A bit of knowledgable advice please.

I notice the little spanner says I have 450 miles left until my next service. This is odd because

    - the car is 4 months under 3 years old with 13650 miles on the clock
    - it was serviced 9 months ago and has only done 2700 miles since then (it's only done 8000 since the service before that)

I'll probably only put another 1000 miles on it before April/May which is when I would have said the service would be due.

If I ignore the spanner will the car suffer any performance problems? Also, will going over the spanner warning invalidate the Citroen warranty? (Ignore the second question, after 3 searches in the warranty booklet, I've actually found this info now).

    Thanks
    Jo

You can reset the spanner yourself (it's in the handbook). Probably just didn't get reset last time it was serviced.

Yep, I know that but the information will still be in there for Citroen to see, I believe. However, thanks for your post and I've amended my initial questions.

Do any other messages come up?

When my oil was low in my 120 I think it used to beep re the service? Not sure - it was a while back and that DS3 did like to beep at me a lot.......

I've gone way over the spanner and my car has been fine (so long as everything is as it should be re levels, wear and tread) Always taken to Citroen for my services and its not been an issue how far over or under the spanner beep I am.

Funny you should say that, I topped my oil up last week during my routine checks (the oil indicator wasn't even warning me so it wasn't that low). Like you say, I'm not going to worry about it since I know I keep my car in good working order.

          Thanks.

The spanner will appear based on time or mileage but it does sound like it may be have set incorrectly last time.
