  • DS3 Gearbox Oil and how to fill?

Hi all, new to the forum so thanks for having me!!

Quick question regarding what gearbox oil is needed for my 2012 1.6petrol non turbo ds3, 26k.(due a service at 27 I think off top of my head)
Basically had a spring snap on the front and replaced it but during the replacement and wrestling to get the old lot off the bloody shaft pulled out and the oil pissed out all over our block paving! Schoolboy error!!! Anyway, the new spring is on and all sorted, I now have to top the oil back up. Can this be done DIY? Or is it a garage job?

What type of oil do I need? And how and where is the filler for it??
And lastly, what can I use to get gearbox oil off the paving?? I feel sick as I know it's going to be an absolute swine to get it off!!!!!

Any help would be most appreciated.
    Kind regards
    Matt

The "official" oil is Esso or Total BV 75W80.

Here is a link to the drain and refill guide - which may or may not help.

You may end up needing a large square drive to remove the drain plug - not sure what size that is, sorry. Draining it is really the only way to know how much oil to put in. It takes approx 2.0 litres only.

If you don't really know what you're doing I'd get a garage to do it.

It's possible you may have damaged the driveshaft oil seal when the shaft came out and went back in too, but hopefully not
    Regards,
