Knocking noise

For the past 6 months ish ive had an intermittent knocking noise which sounds like its coming from the suspension someone. I cant quite pinpoint where exctly its coming from. Mostly it sounds like front nearside although sometimes i convince myself its more rearwrds. Its particularly noticeable over bumpy roads or speed bumps. The car went in for service in october when i asked the stealers to investigate. They noted the mechanic heard something which he couldnt pinpoint but they deamed it not serious enough to investigate.
Just lately there is wheel skipping on full lock at low speed particularly in reverse and terrible understear. Not sure if the issues are linked. There is still decent tread on the tyres. Any ideas guys?

Do you notice it mostly when taking corners? and is it definitely knocking or is it Juddering? Does it do it on just full lock both going on lock and bringing it back? Or is it like a light tapping general driving?

If your DS3 is still under warranty I would insist the dealer investigates the noise, they should be able to better determine whats causing it and then get it on a ramp to check etc.

suspension knocking it doesnt matter whether straight ahead or turning and is at any speed. it ranges from very quiet to very loud banging, particularly noticeable if going over a hump or bump mostly nearside. the front tyres skipping and jumping is at near to or full lock left and right forward or reverse.
The stealers had the car on the ramps and said suspension is fine. refused to investigate further

ta, next time its making the noise I'll get it in and ask them to check that

I had a very loud knocking on my 90 when cornering and it sounded very violent and i was told by my mechanic that it was my strut bearing that had gone but it doesn't sound the same. mine was only on full locking and bringing it back.

Knocking for me was the plastic trim on the outside skirt which had one of its retaining clips broken and was knocking on the body. And then another source for knocking was the power window mechanism faulty somehow on the left side. Both done under warranty. Props for the dealer who got 2 mechanics to investigate: one drove the car and the other listened around where the noise was coming from.

That actually reminds me i had a faint knock on mine when i first got it, didn't really notice it and that was the ball joints!
