  • THP Loss of power.

Hey! I've searched everywhere and decided to join the forums and seek help from "the experts".

Now, I know by searching google, loss of power for the thp is a common thing, however, when driving, my car is somewhat struggling to climb. Now, I've had the machine on it and codes have been cleared (my mistake of not logging them down and mistakenly informing the receptionist at my local dealership who somehow managed to lose what she noted down) Once the codes were cleared, it ran fine and my power was back and pulling like it "should" do. Now, it comes and goes as it likes and I'm losing my patience with it as no one has a clue what's making it do what it does. Fyi -no lights on dash, using Vpower fuel.

If what I've said doesn't make sense, I'll upload a quick video of the problem.

    Kind regards
    Nick

could be a few things from carbonised inlet valves, hpfp, ecu, jets, timing chain/tensioner
    or even something else

    you need the codes

Does your Engine make rattling noises when you cold start it?
What year your DS3 was build?
Any big repairs or recalls done in the past?

Not sure of the build. 2010/11 (60) plate. I've noticed some juddering when stood still. It's a 1.6 yet feels like a 1.0 climbing hills. So no rattling. Will try and get codes over the weekend to see what you guys think.

@ Chris- if what you said could be one of the problems, how much am I looking at repair wise?

        Thanks

Carbonised inlet valves. At least that's what it was when my THP had that.

Not sure where your based but if it is the inlet valves Jamie (forum member) at SP Tuning can clean this for you, you could drop him a PM on the forum or call him for a quote, his website is http://www.sptuning.co.uk/ and telephone number is 01455 615881

I suspect the clean will be the cheapest option for the faults Chris suggested.
