My car is doing the same. Engine management light came on, flashing first, then stays on. It is misfiring or juddering between 1000 and 2000 revs.
The cooling fan is staying on for 10 mins after I turn engine off..... Changed 2 coil packs that it says there is a fault on when fault code is read. No change.
Changed spark plugs...still doing the same.... any ideas??

Welcome Richard, I would advise checking with a Citroen dealership if there is a recall on your car for this very issue. If there is, Citroen will replace it free of charge assuming it is the same sensor part number as the recalled ones.

Hey all, just read the thread and I'm also having similar problem. Car went I. To garage and he changed the timing chain and temp sensor. Car ran fine for about 3 weeks, just did it again, hunting at idle and fan on even once stopped. Car was cold.
I'm wondering if it could have anything to do with fuelling whilst cold and the carbon build up that these cars are prone to? Did anyone get an answer to their problem?
            I've got a 2011 thp.

The timing chain cost me 400 quid so I'm kinda pissed it hasn't fixed it!
            Any help would be great.

            Thanks.
            Aaron.

Sounds like you need to get the codes read....

Could likely be either carbon build up or the high pressure fuel pump failing is common too.

In garage yesterday, codes read cylinder 1-4 misfire, hunting occurs when I use an auxiliary in the car such
As the heated rear screen. Battery tested and read "battery fault, change battery" changed and made no
difference. Fuel pump pressure was fine but not tested during hunting episode.
Mechanic thinks possibly coils. Going back in Thursday. Who knows.
Anyone else experienced this kinda issue?

9 months after having the Temp Sensor replaced, car is now reporting an error as soon as i turn it on, and the loud fan comes on, and stays on after the engine is turned off, for 5 minutes

so looks like my temp sensor has gone again, would this part still be under warranty, as it was only replaced 9 months ago

My understanding. Was it replaced under the cars warranty? If so and if the car is still under warranty it will be covered under that again. If the cars warranty has run out in the mean time most likely it will not be covered as it is stupidly looked at like the part itself has no warranty just the car as a whole. There would be a good chance of the dealer covering it under "good will" for something like that but it would be up to them. If the part was not replaced under the cars warranty then you may have something to go on for getting it replaced.

Hi guys, I live in Sydney Australia, had a DS3 Sport since 2011. Off and on I have been experiencing engine 'shutter', however could never be properly diagnosed. about 6 months ago in stop and go traffic the engine shuttered, almost stalled, engine light came on. I was able to pull to the side of the road in limp mode. turned engine off, fan blowed full force, waited ten minutes or so, turned it back on and took car straight to the mechanic. he was able to read a misfire on multiple cylinders, however couldn't see what would cause it. he thought it could be caused by the spark plugs, so he changed them and that then did the trick until about 7 weeks ago. same thing happened, this time accelerating onto the motor way, car went into limp mode during acceleration and engine light came on. pulled aside the road, turned engine off. fan kept on blowing at full blast for about 10 minutes. turned car back on, engine light and limp mode still there. took car straight back to mechanic, who again could only read misfires and recommended doing deeper tests on the engine. findings were that cylinder #1 and #2 leak 20%, while #4 leaks pressure at 80% and full of oil. and verdict is piston failure and that i need to replace my engine completely. i got in touch with citroen based on the fact that i only racked up 45K. even though i am 3 years out of warranty they are willing to cover 65% of costs, which sounds like a good chunk, however that still leaves me AU$6,000 (GBP 3,500) out of pocket! hope none of you guys have this issue developing, but if you do, please post

Sorry, I have not been on here for a while, I had a similar sounding problem but I took it to a local ds3 expert who knew it was a misbehaving fuel pump. In your case whilst the initial symptoms seemed similar it’s very different. I have heard of some of the racing ds3’s cracking pistons etc. Hope you managed to get it sorted. Not a good situation.
