engine running rough when cold

started car and it sounds like its missfiring and wont run properly chugging and cutting out
when turn the engine off fan stays on
when the car warms up its fine no problems
any ideas im thinking the car thinks its hot when its cold and adjusts the fuel wrong
possibly temp sensor
its the 120vti

Temp sensor is one of the more common faults that affects the VTI.

Hopefully so. If the car is still within warranty it should be covered under that.

no its a 2012 car so i dont think it is had it 2 years nearly

I believe they may be covering temperature sensor replacement even if the car is out of warranty.

Had my temp sensor replaced on my 155 Thp as a recall no charge. There was no fault with the existing sensor but it is replaced as a recall, the ecu software update was also done. They don't replace the housing but fit a new sensor in a bleed screw location please see the link below:

We had 120vti in for same problems, turned out to be the oil level module.
