I'm guessing the R56 version is more reliable, as always not all THP HPFP are affected but some of the OEM ones appear to have reliability issues don't they ?
What's the difference between the R56 Version and the THP155 OEM Version?
Im pretty sure but not 100%
They are the same part, just that Citroen charge way more for their one. The HPFP has undergone numerous revisions due to issues like rough idling and low pressure supply, the reason i changed mine and Jamie did the same.
I have just put my 2011 THP into Citroen due to Engine warning light and misfire, having done only 27,000 miles from new to be told the HPFP has gone; it has been recently nut blasted so the valves are clean.
Citroen have quoted £808 to have the pump replaced!!! so checked this thread with some interest and contacted my local BMW dealer to see the price for their part (13517588879) only to find that its £736!! ... Looks like it used to be around £240 from BMW so can't understand the massive price hike.
What are people paying for the HPFP nowadays, and where's best to get the part from?
Anyone had any luck with citroen replacing this part FOC out of warrantee - reading a BMW forum it looks like BMW will do replace the HPFP for free on the R56 upto 120,000 miles
;-o
