  • Locking wheel nut key

    Hi,

I've recently bought a DS3 and it requires a new tyre, but I'm unable to find the locking wheel nut key. I've contacted the previous owner and they are
going to have a look for it, but they thought it was in the car as they have recently put 2 new tyres on the back. Has anybody recently had this issue?
I phoned my nearest Citroen dealer yesterday but the parts department was closed. I just want to know if I can order a replacement key or not.

    Thanks

You should be able to order a new one from your dealer.

Thanks, I guess I just give them the reg number and they can track the part number. Any idea on the cost?

        Looking at previous posts £60-£80.

If you decide not to go down the new key route, try The Wheelnut Man. He'll have have the nuts off in minutes and is very reasonable. Assuming you're in Forest Town, Notts area, he's not far away from you.
http://www.thewheelnutman.co.uk/ I can personally recommend him.

Thanks, will see how much it is for the replacement key first. I can get a new set for a tenner of eBay so will just buy new and use this guy.

I'm assuming you've checked the polystyrene holder in the boot, under the carpet (if your DS3 has one) ? Mine has always lived there as it came with a spare space saver wheel. It's adjacent to the yellow plastic claw thing for pulling off the wheel nut covers.

The first DS3, minus spare wheel, had the key in a day-glo yellow drawstring bag so as not to lose it, I still have it at home and it is bright....

              Good luck

Yeah checked the entire boot and car!!! Citroen have recommended having them removed and replaced with non-locking wheel nuts. They said a replacement key is £60 plus VAT and would take a minimum of 2 to 4 weeks!!! I've rang round and cheapest I can get is a local specialist who charge £45 plus £12 for 4 new nuts.

Oh my dealer has just quoted me £18.48 inc vat for 4x replacement wheel nuts. I'm going to get those and remove the locking ones....
