Light throttle hesitation 150bhp petrol

My DS3 has a partial throttle hestation.......when you pull away you have to give it a bigger boot full of throttle or you get a sort of flat spot .I had this on a seat ibeza turbo and a remap got rid.

The fault is a bit anoying but you can drive round it ...........bit like the car is clearing its throat............Steve

At the moment they are the last place i will go :rolleyes:I will give the engine a check at the weekend to see if the plugs and coilpacks are tight and then go from there .

Just wondered if it was a common prob

It could be so many things. I have had problems with my car. This was not one of them.

Do you have this also with the ESP off ?
I know what you are saying and with ESP off this "problem" is not there when you pull away very fast and on full throtlle!

I did notice this before I got mine remapped. Since then the power delivery has been very smooth.

Hi fabian no the problem is under normal driving conditions ...............it just seems to hesitate then you give it more throttle and it clears

driving to work this morning the strangest thing happened. I put my foot down to accelerate onto the A40 and my power kept dropping in and out like the turbo dropped and couple of times, it judders a tiny bit but nothing like when ABS kicks in. I thought it was because the engine was cold but it happened again a few minutes later.

could this be the straw that sends the citroen back? Got it booked in already for this Sat so will have them look at it.

Exactly what cooper said. So much power in the lower gears meant an un-even ride. Remap sorted it and now it's smooth through all the gears but still gives a nice thump from the turbo!
