  • I can't find the service interval mileage countdown on engine start up...

I thought that on starting the car one was supposed to see the mileage remaining before next service - according to the manual. Anyone have any ideas as to why this is?
I have tried to push the button on the dash which has the spanner next to it (supposed to bring up that info) and nothing happens.
    Thanks.

Yeah, I'm getting exactly the same on mine. The manual clearly says that it'll display the mileage-until-servicing for 5 seconds on ignition, and that you can press the trip-reset button quickly to display at any time. Nothing appears at all on mine, I just get the Oil OK indicator then, after a few seconds, the total mileage. If I press the trip-reset (without holding it down until it resets) I get nothing come up - no service information.

I'm wondering if the dealer didn't reset the service indicator properly when I collected, so it's never started? There's a description of how to reset the counter in the manual, so as mine's almost exactly at 1000 miles now I may see if I can reset the counter myself and, if that fixes it, just remember to get it serviced 1000 miles before it says it's due. I'll let you know if resetting the counter myself fixes it.

Anyone else noticed this? I take it normally the service interval IS displayed when you first start the ignition, and you CAN see the indicator manually if you press the trip-reset button once?

It's not just me then: the service indicator comes up on our old picasso, but I haven't paid attention to it since having it serviced recently to see if it comes on when starting the car.
I am wondering if it only comes on when close to a service, but then it would say that in the manual...
I also thought about resetting the service indicator myself, but haven't done it yet. Let me know what you find out.
With regard servcing itself, dealer / manual says every two years or 20k miles (petrol) but you can have annual 'peace of mind' services if you so wish - so I was expecting to see a countdown to the 20k miles 1st service.
I shall check the picasso when I get home and post back.

Well, I reset the counter, but it still doesn't work. Strangely enough, I do now get an indicator pop up to say when my fuel runs out (which I'm sure never popped up before unless I manually checked)...no mileage till service though like the manual says.

Wonder if ANYONE if seeing it? Maybe it is only when a service is imminent (which is not what the book says)?

I checked the old picasso, and the coutdown to service starts from the moment the counter is reset (whcih they did at servicing).
I have asked my dealer what the issue is with regard DS3 - hopefully they know what it is!

I asked my dealer and he says that the mileage countdown will come on closer to the service limit... we shall see.

I've just discovered how to bring up the "distance to next service" information.

Press the "trip" button briefly to change the display from trip mileage to range, then hold the button down for 2-3 seconds. You'll get the spanner icon & the total mileage figure will change to the distance to the next service.

Great tip, Dave, didn't know we could do this. Just tried it, and pleased to get confirmation that I've still got nearly 13k miles to go before the first service (although I plan to drop the oil at 10k anyway - 20k seems far too long to wait for an oil-change on a high-performance engine)

Guess what, sat down today and had another look at the handbook and it's all in there! Can't believe i missed it!

Taxi for one :0 no I do a lot with my work all over Wales around 3000 a month at the moment, means I get to spend a lot of time in my DS3 which still puts a smile in my face, it has really loosened up now and is very perky to drive.
