  • Injector clamp failure

    Good evening.
I'm posting this on behalf of my missus who's car it is.
Car is an 61 reg ds3 hdi 110.
Car is currently on 29k approx and was on 23k when purchased, after approx 2-3 months she had 3 breakdowns due to injectors failing. Car was recovered and dealt with accordingly. Unsure as to weather the injectors were replaced or just simply cleared the fault codes etc. No ideas what the mechanic did tbh. Now car has been spot on from 25k approx until now. Went to start the car yesterday morning and it sounded like a bag and of spanners and was smoking heavily under the bonet.
After taking off the airbox etc to get to the injectors I could see immediately what the problem was,
    Please see pic.
Now my problem is sourcing one of these and also I have probably read too much into refitting the injector.
I'm not sure as to what torque setting to use.?
Not sure on if it's a stretch bolt or not.?
There's lots of different interpretations on how to refit the injector. I was initially going to source a new clamp and just use a socket wrench to a tightness I deemed necessary and hope for the best.
Any advise on the above would be greatly useful.
I have found nobody on the internet who has suffered a snapped injector clamp like me
    Regards

    Hi

We have a 110 of the same age but we have covered 88000 miles in ours from new. I would say the best place to get a clamp would be a breakers and I would not think it has stretch bolts.
One thing I would replace is the copper sealing washer that fits between the injector and the head and you should be able to get these from a local diesel repair specialist.

    Hope this helps.

    Regards Martin

I would have thought the dealer could provide the part. I have found the part no for the clamp as RP 16 131 812 80 and for the securing bolt as 1982 G5.

Certainly get one from the dealer who will have to order it from France at some exuberant priced and waiting time to get it(to be fair a lot of stuff is surprisingly cheap). Or finding a local breakers yard that has a hdi110 engine that was used in a tons of cars so should be easy and cheap.

Ive just had the same issue , out of the blue on my 2012 ds3 hdi .Up until last week it had been running like a dream . It was left standing for a week during which time i fitted a new battery . On starting up the car , there was an immediate Phutt phutting sound and lots of white smoke . My mechanic has told me the bolt holding the clamp had snapped .He had to get it out and has replaced the clamp also ...ive just been phoned up to say its ready . Does £95 sound a fair price ..anyone??
