Roof dent.

Hey all, so I've had my DS3 for around 3 months now and over the weekend some pleb has put a dent in my roof somehow. I have no idea how or when it happened outside my home.

Anyway, id say the dent is small and its just above my rear window, where the car curves towards the roof. I have just taken it to a small dent removal company close to where I work and they have quote me £350.

I really just wanted to ask how much should I look at paying?

Seems expensive to me (difficult to be sure without seeing pics of the size and location of the dent), I had two parallel dents or around 3 inches or so removed from my drivers door a while back and a respray. That was £110 (I think) from a body shop recommended by my Citroen dealer.

A lot will depend on how easy the dent is to remove.

Mmmm, I suspect that access to the rear of the dent (for a simple push) is hard to get so that might increase the price a bit. However there are plenty of dent removal specialists around these days so I'd get some alternative quotes to see if the price is reasonable.

Thanks for the replies!! I've emailed a few other places for some quotes so see what happens.

Could getting a plunger on it really work? Without scratching or marking th paintwork?

I have exactly the same dent in exactly the same place . And I cannot explain how it got there .it looks like someone has punched it.

Exactly what I think it looks like it's been punched. There are no marks or anything to make me think it's been hit by something. Have you just left yours?

Yes it really bugs me when I have polished the car .I will get it sorted when funds allow.
I also have a dent in my passenger door right on the crease and a big scuff on the bumper. All courtesy of other drivers that drove off without reporting it whilst it was parked in Asda car park.😠😠😠

That part of the roof is very susceptible to dents from people leaning on it, I've thankfully not had it happen to me but I have seen it mentioned on here before.

Dropped into chips away today a lunch. They said they could 'have a go at it' for £60. I'm just worried they'll pull some paint off or something as he mentioned having to use a glue. Bit of a risk but 60 quid is definately more tempting than 350.

Popped it into chips away this morning, took and hour and gone, happy with it. I'd recommend them if anyone gets the same kind of dent

How did they sort it? Just pull it out with a sucker?

£50 is about average for SMART repairs on most cars.
