Air vent open and closed thingy bob on dash

so driving home a good few hundred miles in the blistering heat last sunday
the air con was on but nothing , absolutly nothing coming out of the dash centre console vents
anyway , played with the thingy bob whatever its called on the dash to open and close the vents
to find it dont work , so ive had to take the airvents out and force open the little doors behind the vents
but at least ill have some nice cold air coming in now

The Dash clips off easily - might be something you can tweek to fix by taking that off to get a good look.
