  • Wheels plastic coated?

I notice my black Bellones have a plastic coating? I thought they had got kerb damage but on inspection it appears that plastic has peeled from the edge and the alloy has corroded slightly and also dirt has got underneath.
Should this plastic have been removed or should it not be coming off at all?

I've read quite some times on forum about corroded Bellones and I think changed under warranty... you could use search I am sure you will find something, meanwhile someone who had this issue will reply...

    maybe this could help,

Can you post some pics ?

I had three Bellones replaced under warranty by Citroen, these had white corrosion lines in the diamond cut (shiny metal) sections of the wheels. These shiny sections have a clear lacquer coating (rather than plastic) so I'm not sure if you're talking about that or maybe a home repair type effort ? Have you had it from new ?

If so it sounds like the lacquer is damaged from a kerb strike ?

Sounds like the lacquer that you mention. There is white worm like marks all over all 4 wheels. Don't recollect seeing these when brought car last Sept. See other poat on here re car age.

Yeah I had those marks on mine and once they start they just get worse My local dealer was really good, took pics, sent them to Citroen and they replaced the three wheels with corrosion. From memory two the first time and then the final wheel a few months later.

Should mention that none of mine had kerb damage to cause the corrosion. Not sure if yours does but I don't think Citroen will cover corrosion caused by kerb damage.
