  • Turbocharger replacement in brand new 1.2L 110 (petrol)

My one-day-old DS3 died on the road after 20 km. Got it towed. The garage says they're replacing a snapped turbocharger, but don't know why it happened. Has anyone else experienced a similar problem with the new DS3? Is there a design fault/recall/known issue?
Thanks. I'm kind of scared to drive it again.

I think you just had no luck with the first turbo (production error)
My dad drive the 1.2L 130 petrol in his 308 and his turbo works like a charme after 20000 miles hard Autobahn drive

Thanks, I hope you're right. You said you've seen a couple of turbochargers go in new engines. What was the cause? Appreciate your insight.

Sorry to note your situation. That`s a worry-some development considering the newness of the vehicle. I also have a similar situation on a 2011 ds3 1.6 THP 155HP. I took it for some engine valve replacement only to have my turbo blow during a final test drive. Mine at least has clocked some 177K. I bought it at 154K and had to replace several items including timing kit, thermostat housing among others. I guess your could be in an unfortunate scenario where that particular unit had a faulty turbo charger from factory. Just wondering if you did manage to replace and how has is it been performing? replace.
