  • Intermittent suspension issues

    Hi All,

Over the past few weeks I've been noticing my car getting gradually louder over bumps and uneven road surfaces.

It sounds like a rattle and is audible from what sounds like directly behind the steering wheel.

The extra vibration accompanying the rattle can be felt through the steering wheel, and the rest of the car, to the point where I'm avoiding uneven surfaces like the plague.

I've got no idea what it could be, as the car still feels 'Tight', its almost as if its skipping over the bumps on the road surface.

Took the car on a long drive last Sunday and ended up on some single track roads, quite a few of which had cracks and light holes on the surface, however nothing deep. Each bump definitely pulled the steering wheel more than what I'm used to with the car.

It doesn't sound like the droplinks, as I had really worn ones on a previous DS.

Any help diagnosing this would be great, I'm a bit disheartened as the car felt as if I'd just picked it up until this problem started.

    Cheers,

Might add that Its as if i can feel every small uneven dent in the road surface through the steering wheel. Stumped at this

Just dropping in to wait for an expert to explain this. I might have similar things - sometimes you feel the vibrations a lot more on the same roads and same speeds you're used to driving every day. I'm always paranoid that I'm running on flats as I do have a very slow air leak in one, maybe 2 tyres.

Exact same situation, some days its smooth as can be, then the next I can feel every rut and bump through the wheel.

I know you mentioned you don't think it's the drop links but have you been down there just to double-check?

          Roll-bar maybe also?

I thought I was crazy but yeah I have experienced the same! Feels like it has something to do with the outside temp, when it's really hot outside I can feel it more.

Doesnt seem to be any play or anything unusual.
