165 THP Internals

Does anyone know if the internals/cooling of the 120kw/165bhp version are the same as the higher output versions of the same engine?

No they aren't, the higher output engine has internals made out of adamantium

Honestly though, I thought the only difference between the 165 and 205 was a bigger turbo on the latter

yeah I have no idea. I assumed it was tuned differently. Probably bigger turbo though.

Reason for me asking is to understand if remap will still be within the limits of the hardware but if bigger turbo it is not

Speak to Jamie (SP tuning) on the forum, he has pushed his 150/155 quite far before upgrading the turbo. He'll probably be able to give you some figures for engine tolerances.

Jamie has changed quite a bit to get to that power too. Pistons for starters... costly

You cant. Exhaust, sports cat converter, air filter and software will do it. Software alone, doubtful

Difficult to say as there are too many variables, including how you will drive it.

As with anything if you stress any part of the engine you run a greater risk of it breaking, as suggested above speak to Jamie at SP Tuning, he's remapped a lot of DS3s from the forum and knows his stuff....
