Hey all,
Yesterday i blew a starter motor on a ds3 thp, i was driving a bit sporty and couldn't hear it turning. Today i installed a new one. And the same thing happened. I didn't blow it. I heard it right away and tried to shut down the engine but the motor kept turning so i had to disconnect the battery. I think i put the key on 0 but did not remove the key from ignition.
Now i waited, considering my options. When it was in 0, i think, i connected the battery, sparks flew and starter motor started doing his thing.
While i was trying to figure out why the starter motor would run, i removed the key. And decided to connect the battery again. Guess what. All returned to normal. So i drove home, very slowly, watching for signs of the sob to start doing his thing. It didn't.
I had to stop for a red light both occasions, so i put it in neutral and had my foot on the brake, i guess that's how starts stop works also?
The big question is. Is it the relay for the motor, the starter motorrelay itself or a bad ignition. Or maybe something in the bsi?
Anyone ?
Thanks,
Nick
