Tyre inflater

How good is the tyre inflater supplied with the DS3? I know some of these things can have wildly inaccurate gauges and take a stupidly long time to get a tyre up to pressure (especially with the relatively high pressures recommended for this model), but if the DS3's isn't too bad it might be more convenient than the local garage forecourts. And it seems forecourt pumps have a poor reputation for accuracy anyway. Perhaps the Citroen one is OK as long as one invests in a decent gauge?

Mine does. It may depend on the model or year. IIRC it does look as if its niche in the boot could accommodate a space saver instead. I have a 61 plate 1.6 DStyle+ with low profile tyres.

Because they are really meant for use when one has an emergency, never were intended for everyday usage. Not saying do not use it to fill your tires just that you can't expect it to be some kind of high performance tight tolerance machine. Go spend some pounds and get a good pressure gauge, it will last you the rest of your life.

I've replaced mine with a real wheel. But the inflater part works fine. Use it every time I switch to snow tires.

The gauge is small but accurate, verified with a digital gauge.

My only complaint is the serious amount of noise the thing makes. Your ears will whislte.

I used mine a couple of days ago. It did seem more effective than the cheap eBay compressor I'd used before but, yes, very noisy! I'm not sure about the gauge; the one I bought from Amazon, which is supposed to be accurate to ANSI B, blew right off the scale even when the tyre was still visibly underinflated! Must be a dud.

It should still be accurate to within about 1 PSI though.
