  • Creaking when braking

    Hi,

I have a DStyle + 1.6 Petrol, 2012 which has started creaking when I brake and the car is coming to a stop.

The sound seems to come from the passenger side of the car.

I have had the car checked and and nothing was found. ie suspension, brakes, springs all fine.

Having checked the car myself I have noticed that the strut cap under the bonnet looks central on the drivers side but on the passenger side where the creak seem to be coming from it is completly over to the right.

The question I have is should both the left hand side and right hand side strut caps look the same ? ie should they be either both dead centre or both over to one side etc

    Thanks

    Paul

A creaking sound is more normally the anti roll bar bushings binding up and in need of some grease. The struts should look in relatively the same position Both a bit outboard on mine but my suspension is not stock. The hole is not that big and the top pieces are, so you sure.

      Thanks Cyclone,

I though maybe a bit of grease somewhere might fix the problme but thought that the garage would of checked this out.

I will post some pictures of the strut caps if you would no mind caomparing to yours and get your opinion.

The drivers side looks dead centre and the passengers side definately leans across far right.

      Thanks Paul
