  • Oil Leak

    Guys

Over the past few days Ive noticed an oil patch under the car.

On closer inspection it looks like the engine core plug is where the oil is leaking from.

Anyone else has this issue ?

Anyone replaced a core plug on the DS3 ?

    Cheers

Do you mean the drain plug?, if so just buy and new one AND new washer.

No. Its the core plug at the rear of the engine block.

Core plugs are generally for the cooling system, you sure it's coming from there.

Thats what I thought. Will get it up on a ramp to have a proper look.

By the way Jamie, the idle is now smooth as silk since the new fuel pump was fitted !!

Well the oil leak was from the timing chain/tensioner.

Everthing was very loose although there was no indication of this with a rattling chain.

There was no evidence of any wear on the chain etc. Although the car is a 2011 THP, the car has only got 38k miles on the clock.

Everything dismantled, cleaned and reinstalled/tightened and its seemed to have cured the leak.

Ended up putting over 2 ltrs of oil back into the engine !!
