  • Windscreen washer pump/motor

Washer pump is dead after cold weather and me impaitently hitting the skooshy despite it being frozen. Tried changing the fuse to no evail. Has anyone changed the pump and if so is it easier to go in through the wheel arch or from underneath?

Change the fuse for a 15A one (stock is 10A).

Also, it's still cold, is the washer fluid fully defrosted?

Ah ok, well I'm out of technical expertise. I'm sure someone will be along shortly with help.

Can hear you the pump working or are you getting silence?

A washer pump not working after the 15A fuse trick? is that even possible.

We have been here before. Put the additive in the bottle to prevent this happening. Otherwise the water will freeze and the pump will be running dry. Nothing to do with the nozzles on the bonnet freezing as has been suggested before. Garages see this happening every winter. Good strong mixture required.
Next problem : glow plugs and/ or sudden battery failure.
