She is back and running better then ever!!!!

So after a long 3/4 weeks at Citroen... my DS3 is back (and it's fricken quick!!!)

Before I gave them my car, the car felt sluggish and indecisive when accelerating fast. Turbo didn't really seem to do much and the turbo actuator was rattling badly! To add, the timing tensioner had failed and the chain was very slacked! Now that it's all be repaired, the car is a rocket! I have all 156 horse galloping and it feels great!!!

Citroen identified that my car needed a lot of work doing [emoji85]

List of parts identified/replaced;

New EP6T Engine (and misc parts)
New Turbo (and misc parts)
Turbo Electric Waterpump
New Timing Chain (and misc parts) - this came with the new engine

Total bill was just under £10500 - covered through extended warranty

Happy to be back on the road!

Glad Citroen still accepts they dun goofed with the THP engine and will still happily replace them.

Enjoy your 0 mileage engine! (But do remember to break it in gently for the first 1k miles)

The cost of manufacturing a part can be as low as 15% or so of the retail price. I used to get employee discounts of up to 70% on my company's products depending on how much of the content we manufactured & buying from outside suppliers discounts of 65% were not unheard of for components like bearings.

But a 12 plate car that's effectively a write off due to a mechanical fault is insane. I assume you followed maintenance schedules otherwise the warranty wouldn't have paid, so the engine itself most have been built out of sticky back plastic and cardboard tubes.

Exactly that! Crazy to think that if I hadn't taken extended warranty, the car would have been written off!!

Yes, serviced on time at main dealers used Genuine Parts!

BMW designed the engine, so yes plastic and cardboard [emoji23]
