  • Diesel additive level

Another question i'm afraid. Looking in the handbook it says that if the level is low then it can only be filled by Citroen. Is this true? Im getting the SERVICE light on the unstrument panel and then ENGINE FAULT REPAIR NEEDED on the multifunction display. Would this be because of a low level. Also is this to with the DPF

Normally any low levels will beep up with the reason - low oil for example and a quick blip of the service light.

    The Handbook says

    Re the Additive:
    Diesel additive level
(Diesel engine with particle emission filter)
A low additive level is indicated by lighting of the service warning lamp, accompanied by an audible warning and a message on the multifunction screen.

    Topping up
This additive must be topped up by a CITROËN dealer without delay.

I don't think an additive top up would display an engine fault message. But not sure.... Someone will!

    Service light is on:

    Temporarily.
A minor fault has occurred for which there is no specific warning lamp.
Identify the fault by reading the message shown on the screen, such as, for example:
    - the engine oil level,
    - the screenwash level,
    - the remote control battery,
    - saturation of the particle emission filter (Diesel).

    Fixed.
A major fault has occurred for which there is no specific warning lamp.
Identify the fault by reading the message shown on the screen and contact a CITROËN dealer.

Re the DPF, it would say something about it on the screen, risk of clogging I think. Not Engine fault.
    My DS3R3... nearly....
