  • Questions about upgrading Sat Nav Maps

I have a few questions regarding my Sat Nav and updating the maps.

    I have a 2015 DS3 Dark Light.

I'm assuming I have a Touch Screen as opposed to a eMyway because on checking the firmware is says I have Smeg6.1.D.R20 dated 17.12.15

Is it a Smeg or Smeg+ and what it the significance of Smeg+IV2, what is it?

I have downloaded the current map up date from my web page on MyCitroen and unzipped to a memory stick.

Can I tell from the unzipped files whether the current version is newer than the version installed on my sat nav which is DbDw-37/Gr-409 CD 30490

Is there likely to be also a firmware upgrade in amongst all the folders and file (over 4gb's worth)?

Sorry there are quite a few questions there, I'd welcome any help people can give.

    Regards

    Mike.

    Hi Mike,

I'm in the same situation. I believe we do have an eMyway.

Does your satnav allow you to enter postcodes? If not you don't have the latest firmware and maps. The update you downloaded should include firmware and maps. Did you leave the popup open
and note the activation code shown once the download had finished? I fell into the trap of closing it because it didn't warn me to keep it open.

So I contacted DS and they gave me this number 0808 101 3885, and they gave me my activation code.

We are allowed 10 updates over a 5 year period, so in our case over the next four years, and the 2017 update is expected in the next month or two.

      Hi DarthVader,
I can enter at least 6 character postcodes.
Yes, I got the activation code although like yourself I missed it the first time.
I just clicked download again and it warned me that I had already downloaded the update and gave the activation code again.
I'll apply the update that I have to see which version it is.
      Thanks for your response.

          Hi DarthVader,
Yes, I did the update and the maps are now DbDw-53/Gr-412 which is the latest 2016 version.
Took over an hour to do.
There was no firmware update that I could make out.

            Great!
How can I check what version is installed on mine?

If you press the Menu Button.

Then on the screen that appears, press and hold 'Settings'

This gives you a list containing System Version, Bluetooth, Map, Display.

Pressing on each will give you the current software version.

is that how you update the maps too?

You update the maps via the usb port near the handbrake.

I downloaded mine from my MyCitroen webspace for free.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but I'm having the same issues as DarthVader. I've registered my DS3 Ultra Prestige with MyCitroen, purchased a USB large enough, formatted it to FAT32 as per the instructions, downloaded everything, plugged the USB into the port near the handbrake and I get the same picture and then absolutely nothing unless I try and take out the USB at which point it tells me the update has failed.

The instructions from Citroen advise if it doesn't auto download to go into Nav and then Manage Card but I don't have that option. I think I've pressed everything single option available!!

I've rung my nearest dealer and they've advised they can't do the download so I rang Citroen UK and got a 'don't know then, take it to a different dealer' which wasn't very helpful.

                    Help!!!!!!

I'm having extactly the same issue , I can't tell whether anything has updated or not as the screen gives no indication that it's reading the usb and I also get installation failed . I'm worried that I may have taken out the card whilst it was still doing something , as anyone got any further with this please

                        It's a while since I did this, so I can't remember everything.

When you see that lingering "Checking compatibility" screen press the X in the corner. You then need to force it to apply the update by searching for the maps on the screen. I think Mike told me how to do this, but I can't remember exactly how to do it.

What I remember is going to Sat Nav settings, and pressing search somewhere, it then comes up with the list of available map updates with all of them selected. If you leave them all selected it will take approx 1 hour to install, if you deselect them all and then choose UK only the installation will take about 10 minutes.

You could also check mycitroen.com or myds.com to download the updated instructions. Let me know how it goes.

After you press the X on "Checking Compatibility" and it disappears click on 'Options', then on Map Settings. This will bring up the map with the highlighted link 'Product ID info'. If you have your USB inserted with the map data the word 'Search' should be highlighted above the 'product ID Info'. Press search and it should bring up the list of maps on your USB. Just a matter of selecting the maps, pressing the green tick and then entering your 'Activation Code'. Well it worked for me. Took about an hour to update all 11 map updates

                              Hi
i used the my DS app and got the download link for touchscreen and map updates. I downloaded and unzipped the file but I can’t get it to all copy onto a usb. One part is about 5g and that’s too large for fat32 file system which it stated must be used for the car system to recognise. Did anyone else have this problem?
