  • thp chain tensioner failed ?

I was at my mechanic for an oil change and also for a checkup as I feel my car (thp engine, year 2010) sounds a bit more noisy at idle
My mechanic told me its the chain tensioner and needs to be replaced.. My car has only 19,300km (Kilometers)
I also have a stage 2 remap though
I wanted to ask if this tensioners are a common issue on the thp engines ?

A 2010 with 20k, sounds like the chain and tensioner. Mine had it's first at new chain at 25k and it's second at 65k.

New chain and tensioner at only 12,000miles? A bit
Too early compared to other cars...i guess thp engines are a bit fragile

Is there any after market /performance tensioner ? My mechanic suggested to go for a new chain as a precaution as well
I find it really ridiculous to have the tensioner and chain replaced at 12,000miles when most other car brands can go up to 80,000 for this replacement

Anybody knows if this part from the peugeot 207 engine is the same on terms of strength reliability? The peugeot tensioner is 1/3 of the citroen asking price.
