  • Monochrome A - Reversing warning graphic

I've seen a few posts with some information on this, but not a specific answer I'm looking for.

I have the monochrome A screen and reversing parking sensors; when I engage reverse and the parking sensors start beeping, I don't get a warning graphic (I mean bars for distance, not a fault message) on the display.

Is this just for Monochrome C and better? or should I be seeing it on the Monochrome A (does seem to appear in the manual...)

If so, is this a dealer fix to reset/reprogram?

    Thanks.

Not a feature on the monochrome A. The beeps are enough though, and they do beep from left/right/centre depending on where the obstacle is (and you still have mirrors)

Ah, that solves that one. ta

And yes, mirrors; I do trust them more than the beeps.

You certainly need the monochrome type C screen. It's a straightforward swap, but will need activating by your dealer to get the full monty as far as displaying what you are wanting. In my experience dealers are not that clued up to this task. I reckon that they tap the VIN number in and get the spec from Citroen via the internet. i.e if your car is fitted with a type A screen the download will program the whole caboodle with what should be there and not what is actually there. I know from experience that using Lexia/Diagbox it isn't sufficient to program the settings under display screen as "Reversing Sensors Present". After a lot of trawling through various settings I stumbled across a setting in the BSI which needs activating as well. A pity you are not a bit nearer Lincolnshire otherwise I could have a go at setting it for you if you manage to locate a type C screen. I have a Lexia/Diagbox set up. Hope this helps

Just to find one... 🙈 what sort of money do they go for? If you know?

Thanks for the offer, but like you say it's quite a stretch to that side of the country... Lol.

I think this might be what you need http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CITROEN-DS...IAAOSwax5Yog0F I am basing this on the fact that Type C screens look like this in that they have a clear plastic screen on the front of the display whereas Type a screens have a surround rather than a full screen. (If that makes sense!!) It would be worth checking with the seller to confirm it is Type C screen. The reverse will have a sticker confirming this. With regard to the price, I think this one is a bit high. If you hang on a bit, you should get one a bit cheaper. I paid £35 for mine.

Thanks for that. By just searching for something simpler ' ds3 display' quite a few popped up... Seems I was being too technical searching for monochrome c... 🙈...

If you get one out of a DSport, the screen shouldn't need reprogramming.

Partly true. The screen configuration from a DSport will undoubtedly be set to parking sensors present, but i know from personal experience that unless the BSI is configured you will not get the graphic on the screen and this will require Diagbox/Lexia

One of those, cross that bridge when I come to it things. Nice to know where to preference my purchase towards though.
