  • Mirror woes

Silly me thought I could fit through a gap that I couldn't and the lorry came out better off.

I'm not short of my passenger side wing mirror. New one on order from the local dealer.

Has anyone got any experience of fitting these? What does the 'full mirror unit' come with? Is there a cheaper alternative to getting it sprayed (gets delivered in primer gray) - someone suggested getting mirror caps?

    Any help is much appreciated.

Not too sure on the fitting side but as someone else suggested to you, could possibly think about getting some caps instead, a couple on eBay direct from a Citroen dealer that has an eBay store setup.

I think they have some white ones as well, a possibility anyway if you didn't want to get it resprayed.

      They're quite smart!

So long as I can figure out how to remove what remains of the old one, and then fit the new one, they'll be alright.

They say they can spray them to any Citroen colour.

Ahh yeh, hadn't actually noticed that in the description. Can just get them to your colour that you want in that case and pay the price they are listed for, pretty good really.

I saw them in my local stealers just before Christmas and they looked really smart. Get some so I can see what they look like on the car

Definitely getting them when I get paid.

Just need to get the new mirror picked up tomorrow and fitted hopefully same day. If I can find the manual that is

They are hard to get off. But easy to get on. Remove the glass and the mirror insides and you'll be able to remove the cover.
The glass pops out of the mirror, that part is easy, just don't drop it when you pop it off like i did (broke the glass). The insides are just a few screws. But the cover is hard to remove. I used a few screwdrivers to wedge between all the plastic mounts.

If I still had the glass section it'd be easy. But I literally have the outside of it and the wire that connects to the car and that's it.
Where it connects to the chrome section that houses the indicator, the main unit snapped off so I have a little plastic stub and that's it

Oh, sorry for your loss...there easy to replace as a unit tho. You'll have to rip off the inside of the door. And the mirror is hold on by one nut. This nut can be removed with something like this (13mm).

If you need to do it again order plastic trim pullers from Amazon - makes the job much easier and doesn't damage the finish of the mirrors etc
