  • New DS3 Purchase Questions

    Hi All,

I have just bought a second hand DS3 with approx. 30K km's on the clock (approx. 19000 miles). A few quick questions I have.

1.) On both sides of the body at the very bottom, right before hit hits the plastic side skirt, there seems to be bumpy paint/metal so to speak. I assume this is part of the bodywork with the joins at the bottom?

2.) The car is an automatic. When going into neutral, there seems to be a click when changing. I assume this is normal?

3.) In terms of reliability, are these cars fairly good? What is the suggested interval between servicing?

    Thanks for your assistance.

(Have attached a photo as well below).

    Hello, welcome!

    1. Yes it's a bit of a sloppy weld by the looks of it. Mine is the same.

    2. Not got any knowledge when it comes to the autos.

    3. The diesel engines are very very reliable, the VTi petrols are pretty good too. Suspension coils are more likely to break than you'd hope, but it's not a huge issue as they often break at the very top or bottom. Temperature sensor may go haywire but it's a recall job not at your expense if it does happen. Mostly wear and tear related stuff. Service intervals are in the handbook.
