  • usb port not working

Hi, i have a 14 plate ds3 i only got it a week ago and i cant get the usb to work.
after reading on here i tried a few things changing the usb stick, taking songs out of folders and putting less on it. ive tried putting it in before i start the car and also tried putting it in once the car is running and i get nothing the aux screen just stays blank.
it doesn't power my phone, sat nav or dash cam.
but the aux works fine on my phone.

im guessing the usb is dead but thought id see if anyone has a idea on what im doing wrong

It does sound like there is no power for the USB, my first stop would be to check the fuse board inside the glovebox.

And could you checked the back to make sure its all still plugged in?

My one comes out, alllll the way. I'll edit this thread in a sec from my phone to add some pics.

Just to be sure, when you say aux screen, you have checked that it is on the usb screen, with a little usb drive picture on it?

OP, let's try the basics too; have you tried the USB cable/device you're attempting to use in another car/usb port?

Have you also tried a different device/cable in your car?

I'm just gonna take it back to the car people and let them fix it and the engine light. This car ain't worth all this effort

For anyone still having this problem. Windows 10 is the cause of the issue. None of my usb sticks worked in my citroen van or our Honda Civic after being formaatted using windows 10.
You need to format your usb stick with sdformatter version 4.0 (not 5 as it doesn't work). Enable the option "format size adjustment on". You'll then find the usb stick is recognised
