  • Fascia below steering wheel

The facia has come away (bottom right of the little cubby hole) while at the paint shop and won't stay put when pushed back in... Is the clip broken (doesn't look like to my eye) or am I missing some knack for putting it back?

If it's an easy fix I'll do it myself... If not I'll have to speak to shop tomorrow...

With most of the trim, you usually just have to line up the clip then whack it firmly (technical term).

Lol, I'll give it a try with an increase in my whacking strength...

Sounds like the TF torque setting... (tight as F...)

If that doesn't work, can you post a pic from slightly further away? I can't quite work out which bit has come loose there. If I know I'll compare to mine and be able to give a bit better advice.

          Big whacks didn't help...

          Wider shot, as requested.

Panel closest to door needs clipping first, clips here: https://flic.kr/p/VBTBr7

Once that's done, line up clip for left panel: https://flic.kr/p/UD2eUB

            In this hole: https://flic.kr/p/UA7zV7

            Whack, back in place: https://flic.kr/p/UD2eVi

            Hope this helps.

I'll try taking it off completely, then re-seating like you've shown. At least comparing from your pictures my clips look intact, so hopefully will go back OK.

              Ta muchly.

                  Sorted.

Turns out a clip in the middle had bent over rather than go in its hole, so that was holding the panel further forward than it should.

The clip pictured, in turn was slightly forward of where it should be, with it only having a light hold on the panel normally, it couldn't resist the pull from the extra distance and kept popping back out.

I've taken most of the trim off enough times I figured it was something simple to check.
