  • Turbo Issues?

I just had a quick question. Say my turbo isnt kicking in like it's suppose to or not working should I still be able to hear the turbo spool? Or is that just because I have an aftermarket blow off valve? I noticed it this morning. As I have the new exhaust system in 1st gear I can really hear the turbo kicking in from 5000revs to redline but today I couldn't yet I could still hear the blow off valve spooling.
I don't know if I've explained this very well sorry if I haven't.

    Thanks

Is the BOV spring/diaphragm correct for the boost pressure you are running? 0.67 ish bar for stock THP.

I got no idea. I don't even know how to check or whatever. I only have a tiny bit of mechanical knowledge...

Oh the bov is specifically for DS3

Would help if we knew exactly which one you bought.

Just as an example, a direct quote from the Forge BOV:
The spring is interchangeable for different levels of boost, and the solenoid is plug and play with the wiring harness which is included.
So basically if it has the wrong spring you'll either be losing boost if the pressure's too high or not venting if the pressure is too low for the spring.

                It's only an adaptor

To be honest no idea how the adaptor is meant to function and how this affects the noises you are hearing / not hearing. Hopefully someone else knows!

I'm guessing this is the crux of your question?

What do you mean "hear the blow off valve spooling"? Earlier in your post you said that the turbo is really kicking in. What exactly is the issue?

Is the car driving the same? Is it just the sound has changed?

Blow off valves do not spool & you should be hearing your turbo begin to spool from around 2500 -3000 rpm up to about 5000 rpm where it begins to tail off
