  • Disabling the alarm

I have a button by the driver side door, next to the esp on/off that the dealer told me was for disabling the alarm should I want to leave the dog/kids in the car etc. I've pressed this button, but no light comes on, nothing to indicate it is disabled or even if its on. Anyone know how to do this?

Does a light come on or anything as I'm sure I tried that. Will try again for longer.

        Cheers.

I've not tried it but the instructions in the manual are:

          1. Switch off the ignition.
          2. Within 10 seconds, press button A until the indicator lamp is lit continuously.
          3. Get out of the vehicle.
          4. Lock or deadlock the vehicle without delay using the locking button on the remote control.

The exterior perimeter protection alone remains activated: the indicator lamp on Button A flashes once per second.

Turn off ignition, hold the button in for a couple of seconds. The light should stay on at which point you can turn the igntion off.

                  Want an easier way???

Just lock the car as normal, then unlock it and just walk away. In 30 secs the car will re-lock but without the alarm being on.

By the why guys do you double tap when locking your DS3's to make sure that the deadlocks are on or are we all 'press and forget'?

Yep always double tap when locking the car, always have done since having cars with deadlocking. On the original topic, when I had an MR2 Roadster the interior alarm was disabled by a third press of the button on the remote, very handy for parking up with the roof down.
