Auto Wipers - can you switch the 'Auto' off?

I'm getting my car this week, and one 'feature' I'm not keen on is auto-wipers (I use high quality rain repellants and don't often use my wipers)....

Does anyone know if you can disable this function? (Sorry if I've missed the same question/tip elsewhere).

Edit: Think I've found it in the handbook which there's a link to on this site (all 233 pages of it :eek....yes you can switch off auto-wipers! Hooray!!!!

The auto function has to be switched on by pressing the stalk down and releasing and is cancelled when you switch the ignition off, it can also be cancelled by moving the stalk to one of the manual wiper positions.
