215/40 17" on standard 17" rims

What do you guys think?
Want to know if 215/40 17” will fit on the standard 17” rims.

Want to buy this size after the winter.

Why?
They are just a bit wider so will give you a bit extra grip.
The track will be a bit wider.
The wheel diameter will be reduced by 2% so acceleration is a bit faster.
They are cheaper then the standard 205/45 17” size.

Well av got 205/40/17 toyo proxes T1R's on front of mine, and yes they do give extra grip I love them
