That's exactly what I was told, they will invalidate the warranty and it is very hard to get the point across that the problem is due to that. I have no doubt that very soon we'll see a recall or Info Rapid that replaces or removes the problem, I seriously hope my replacement doesn't have any issues!

It's not exactly a quick and simple thing that you could apply and remove for service visits, although having said that for normal routine servicing I guess it's not to much of an issue to take them off, it's when you breakdown and have to be recovered to the dealer that's the issue!

"I reckon there's a batch of faulty PCV valves in use that are allowing to much oil in to the intake that's causing it to gum up, my engine issue was due to sticking valves."

Thats where my money would be Stef

FRANCE : http://distributionthp.free.fr/index...n_view_eng.php (sorry but with an approximative translate but essential)

        WHAT IF THERE IS ?
This site is a small gathering of people experiencing distribution problems on THP engines.
A shift in the distribution appear gradually and results in destruction of the engine.
At best your engine will go into degraded mode and operate with reduced power, the worse it will break.

Did they establish what was wrong with it, & why?

Flywheel had come away from the crank shaft. Only explanation given was that it was a manufacturing fault, so hopefully it was just a one off duff.

ready for an update all ? deep breath. thankfully my good old man took the car in on tuesday 9 o clock as i had to work as usual and was given courtesy car to which me and my old man were to be insured on. decided ive had enough rang citroen uk on monday to be told id be contacted by 5 on tuesday. Was contacted at 4 on tuesday to be told tht citroen uk have requested the dealership to do an " extended" test drive which was a technician driving it home and back the next morning amounting to ..... 80 miles ...... now having recieved this information i thn had to decline the test drive which would mean me having the courtesy car for wednesday aswell due to the service manager NOT putting me on the insurance because he thought the car would be sorted before the end of the day and i wouldnt need it. WRONG so i had the car back all running fine no problems until after getting her warm amazingly on comes the engine management light and hello power loss. so after all day today on the phone to CUK and the dealership they want the car bk in but cudnt offer me a courtesy car until the 5th of december ! after jumping up and down shouting its not fit for purpose its not safe i was told ok we will hire a car from enterprise for you for 7 DAYS :O why 7 days. but after speaking to enterprise they dont insure any 1 under 25 so i need a cover note from my insurance company which as anything nowadays isnt free. and cuk refuse to pay for it so ultimatly for citroens cock up and dodgy engine i pay alot monthly for it i get hassle of gettin it to the dealership numerous times and now i have to pay for a cover note to insure a shitty little car tht i dont want because all i want is a fully working DS3 THP too much to ask ?

How long have you had the car now and how many times have they had it?

Sounds like a perfect reason to officially reject it!

I have started using Tesco 99 and after a few tank fulls the car is completly differant to drive .................it actually feels as though it wants to pull now and the tickover is more stable with no sign of trying to stall anymore .....................Steve
